The following workshops are still works in progress; please call ahead to verify and preregister. If there is a workshop that you would like to see or experience just let us know.

2010 Workshops and Events



July:            4th of July Parade: We won 2nd place!

                       
                       29th :On Thursday at 7:00 Steve Taylor, retired NH Commissioner of Agriculture, will be giving a presentation titled “Cows and the Community: How the Lowly Bovine Has Nurtured New Hampshire” at Spider Web Gardens.  This event is co-hosted by Dan Hole Pond Watershed Trust.  Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public through a grant from the NH Humanities Council. The NH Humanities Council nurtures the joy of learning and inspires community engagement by bringing life-enhancing ideas from the humanities to the people of NH.  They connect people with ideas.  Learn more about the council and its work at www.nhhc.org. Both presenters are very experienced speakers who will entertain and enlighten the audience.  A period of discussion will follow each talk.

August:     1st: 9am to 3 pm Agriculture Day; see our booth at the Farm Day and Ag Festival at the Carroll County Complex.

21st:  9am-11“Natural Approach to Floral Design”: Karen O’Shea of   Tranquil Spaces will lead this workshop that will teach you the rules of floral arranging and then break them all. Learn what is pleasing to the eye!  Bring your own container; baskets, vases, dishes, your choice.  Instruction and materials provided; $15.00 per person. Please pre-register.

                           21st : 11am-1:00 pm 3rd Annual Taste of the Garden; enjoy the free feast! SWG staff cooks delicious veggies!

      28th: Watercolor painting with Dora Clarkson. This workshop has been cancelled, will try for next year.   

28th: from 4 to 6pm canning and preserving with Ann Hamilton of  UNH Cooperative Extension. Demonstration and tasting, bring your questions and appetite. Ann will prepare a garden salsa and raspberry jam.

28th and 29th: Passport to Local Farms tour and open house. Tour will be at 10:00 both days, other activities will be ongoing. Bring the family to Spider Web for this day of visiting farms across the state.

September: 26th and 27th :10-2: scarecrow making workshop; Create a unique decoration for you home or business. We supply the frame, hay and clothes, you bring your ideas and any special supplies/clothes. Fee associated.

                            Fall container class with Laura, date and time to be announced.

October:    2nd and 3rd  :10-2 scarecrow making workshop. Create a unique
                           decoration for you home or business, we supply the frame, hay and
                           clothes, you bring your ideas and any special supplies/clothes. Fee associated with this class.

                           Pumpkin bouquet; create a beautiful centerpiece, date to be announced.

November: wreaths, swags, centerpieces; almost every weekend

December: wreaths, swags, centerpieces first 2 weekends

 

Ongoing events:  Wolfeboro Farmer’s Market:  Thursdays 12:30-4:30    Ossipee Farmer’s Market Sundays 10-1  CSA Pick-ups Mondays and Fridays 12-5:30
